Important information concerning ER14-50 installations
Generators installed on small block
Continental engines could have one of two different sized
shafts. The smaller, and by far the most common shaft is 0.5" diameter while the
larger shaft is 0.64" diameter.
If the replaced generator had the larger shaft (0.64"), the
ER14-50 will require the use of the
G-Pack (shown to the right).
If the replaced generator had the smaller shaft (0.50") the
ER14-50 may use the existing gear assembly.
E-series engines (E-165, E-185, E-225) use a unique gear and
cannot use the gear included in the ER14-GR assembly.
However the G-Pack may be required where the replaced generator
has the larger diameter shaft (0.64"). Call
Plane-Power for more information.
